This is the second attempt to adapt the 1992 movie A League of their Own into a TV series. The first try was a CBS sitcom featuring Megan Cavanagh (Marla Hooch) and Tracy Reiner (Betty "Spaghetti" Horn), reprising the roles they played in the movie. Several of the behind-the-scenes personnel were the same (the movie's screenwriters, Babaloo Mandel and Lowell Ganz, were producers, and the movie's director, Penny Marshall, was one of the directors) but all the other roles were recast (Sam McMurray played the Tom Hanks role (though he DID DIRECT AN EPISODE); Carey Lowell and Christine Elise took the Geena Davis and Lori Petty roles, respectively) only 6 of the 8 episodes aired and found on youtube.
