On the letter to Anne Smiley's address is given as 18 Asherton Street, Islington, N1, but no such street exists in Islington. The actual street depicted is Lloyd Street in Clerkenwell (part of the Borough of Islington), the sign can actually be seen on the side of one of the houses. However in reality, Lloyd Street is much shorter than depicted and doesn't have a large building as shown in the film at either end, so the scene appears to have been digitally edited. Unfortunately, the anachronistic speed bumps were not edited out.
