A scene was filmed, but cut and later reinstated for the extended edition DVD revealed a little more about Aragorn. Aragorn reveals to Eowyn that he is a descendant of Numenor. On Middle Earth, Numenor was an island kingdom home to another race of humans who aged differently to that of a normal human being and Aragorn reveals to Eowyn that he is 87-years-old and that he's one of the last of his people after Numenor collapsed and along with its inhabitants.
