During the zombie siege sequence from season three, episode five, "Burn, Witch, Burn!", Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe) jokes they're under attack from the "Army of Darkness". Later, in the same episode, when Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) lures the Army from Nan (Jamie Brewer) and Luke (Alexander Dreymon), she goes for the work shed and grabs a chainsaw. These sequences could be a reference to the La casa (1981) film franchise.
