In the mid nineties the show began airing in reruns on the A&E cable network. At the time hour-long shows usually did not end up getting syndicated due to their length. Many networks usually don't have an hour's worth of time to rerun a show thus they preferred half-hour sitcoms. A&E and other cable networks, however, usually had plenty of available time on their schedules and thus this led to the popularity of hour-long dramas being syndicated.
