The protagonist is referred to as "Kong" throughout the movie. Denham even says it will be up in lights on Broadway as "Kong, the Eighth Wonder of the World". The next scene is dominated by a marquee that says "King Kong"; in one of his final acts as RKO's production chief, David Sleznick changed the title of film after the dialog had been recorded. This is the only reference to "King" Kong in the entire movie.
