The very hectic shooting schedule forced Tom Hardy to leave Suicide Squad (2016). Hardy revealed to Collider that the film "...has turned into a much bigger beast than we thought, but that also looks exceptional." He had previously portrayed the DC Comics supervillain, Bane, in Il cavaliere oscuro - Il ritorno (2012). He ended up playing the titular character in the Marvel comic book movie, Venom (2018).
