In the novel, there are heavy gay subtexts surrounding the relationship between Lestat and Louis. In Intervista col vampiro (1994), despite those subtexts being generally absent, the relationship between Lestat and Louis is more subtle and intimate. In this show, the subtexts are overt and concrete. The relationship between Lestat and Louis is more palpable and passionate.
