The road tax disc for Sophia Loren's red Mercedes has a MAR 66 expiry date. When they discover the meaning of the inscription, the important date is June Eighteenth, which therefore must be 1965 (UK road tax discs always being valid only for 12 months or less). In the next scene Gregory Peck says "Monday was the 14th, Tuesday, Wednesday... It's today!" Today must be Friday. Those were the correct days, Monday 14th and Friday 18th June, 1965.
