This series offers an origin story for DC's Joker as a sibling (Jeremiah) who becomes the Joker following his deceased brother (Jerome, an original character)'s path, similarly to the Black Canary origin on Arrow (2012) in which Laurel Lance takes the mantle honoring her deceased sister's legacy, the original character of Sara Lance.
