Throughout the first season, the true nature of the series' supposed hero (Sam I-Am) and villains (the BAD GUYS) is put into question. Despite claiming to have good intentions, Sam does several immoral things like stealing, committing fraud, forcing his ally Guy to lie to his friends, etc. By contrast, the BAD GUYS (despite their evil-sounding title and aggressive appearances/mannerisms) never do anything overtly corrupt. Near the end of the season, two major twists are revealed. One is that "BAD GUYS" is actually an acronym that stands for "Bureau of Animal Defense - Glurfsburg Upper Yipville Section". The other is that Sam is actually an accomplished criminal who was hired by Snerz (the series' main villain) to steal a Chickeraffe from Glufsburg Zoo so he could add it to his rare wildlife collection.
