Laurie Holden appeared in the backdoor pilot (Chicago Fire: I Am the Apocalypse (2015)) in April 2015 as Dr. Hannah Tramble and was set to star in the series, but in August 2015, she announced that she will not appear in the series. The producers said that her role will not be recast, but they will add new female roles (an emergency pediatrician, a charge nurse and a young first-year resident), before the filming begins in September.
