In the 1991 animated version, Mrs. Potts was voiced by Dame Angela Lansbury. In this version, Dame Emma Thompson played Mrs. Potts. Lansbury and Thompson co-starred in Nanny McPhee - Tata Matilda (2005). Thompson starred alongside Beauty and the Beast collaborator Ewan McGregor (Lumière) in Tata Matilda e il grande botto (2010). In addition, Thompson also portrayed Mary Poppins creator P.L. Travers in Saving Mr. Banks (2013) while Lansbury appeared as The Balloon Lady in Il ritorno di Mary Poppins (2018), the sequel to Mary Poppins (1964).
