When Bob Geldof first proposed Live Aid, he declared that it would be a one-off event, "never to be seen again." In fact, Geldof requested that even the broadcast partners, including MTV and ABC (US), and the BBC (UK), erase their tapes after the event. ABC is the only partner to have erased most of their tapes. Years later, due to popular demand and widespread Internet bootleg copies, Geldof agreed to have the extant tapes (primarily from the BBC and MTV) collected and restored, and in 2004 a DVD box set of most of the performances was released. In 2007 Queen Rock Montreal & Live Aid (2007) was released (a remastered and expanded version of We Will Rock You: Queen Live in Concert (1983)). As of 2020, the Blu-Ray and HD-DVD versions of this are the only officially released hi-def video of any Live Aid performances. No official audio version of the event was released until 2018, which did not include the Queen performance. The "Bohemian Rhapsody" film soundtrack album was the first official audio release of any of Queen's Live Aid performance; it only includes the songs that feature in the film version ("Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "We Will Rock You" are excluded). In 2019, the Live Aid audio was re-released on streaming services, adding Queen's songs. This is the most complete version, including the two songs omitted from the "Bohemian Rhapsody" soundtrack, plus the Freddie Mercury/Brian May encore performance of "Is This The World We Created?" However, this version omits the "Eh Oh" impromptu sing-along, which is included on the film soundtrack.
