During the montage of their past adventures, Peabody is seen signing a paper and handing it to Shakespeare, who is looking after Sherman. This scene is a nod to the popular theory that speculates William Shakespeare is not the true author of the works for which he is widely known. It was previously spoofed in Peabody's Improbable History: William Shakespeare (1961).
