An early draft of the script had the Autobot in the Ark named Ultra Magnus, who would have been based on his Toransufômâ: Kârobotto (2000) incarnation (Optimus Prime's brother). He was later renamed Sentinel Prime, Optimus Prime's predecessor, to form a closer relationship.
