Andrew Garfield has stated several times that he will not return as Spider-Man in the future after the commercial and critical failure of this film. However, after his surprise supporting role in the commercial and critically successful MCU film Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), Garfield later backtracked his past comments and said that he is indeed interested in playing the character again in the future.
