The maiden name of Piper Laurie's character is Packard, which was also her character's last name in Lo spaccone (1961). Her next film after that was Carrie - Lo sguardo di Satana (1976), in which she worked with two other David Lynch alumni: Priscilla Pointer (Velluto blu (1986)) and Sissy Spacek (Una storia vera (1999)), who was also Lynch's sister-in-law at the time.
