I Simpson (1989) is one of the last American prime time animated series to be produced with traditional ink and paint coloring. Digital ink and paint was experimented with in I Simpson: Radioactive Man (1995), I Simpson: Tennis the Menace (2001), and I Simpson: Treehouse of Horror XIII (2002), but a permanent switch from cel coloring to digital coloring wasn't made until I Simpson: The Great Louse Detective (2002).
