Robin's suit in this film is based on the costume of the DC Comics character Nightwing, who was Dick Grayson's identity after he abandoned the Robin costume in the 1980s. The differences are that the main symbol across his chest and arms is red (silver during the climax) instead of blue, and features a utility belt and a cape. The red areas of his costume would later be used in the comics.
