In the film's final scene, the young psychic Gillian blows up the manipulative Ben Childress with her mind. The effect was achieved by using the distraction of a falling lamp to match-cut the actor with a dummy rigged with explosives and blood. The explosion took two takes to get right. It was shot with a high frame-rate camera.
