There are two musical references to Shirley Temple movies: (1) in the restaurant where Bianchi (Martin Balsam) and Hercule Poirot (Albert Finney) dine, a trio plays "On the Good Ship Lollipop" from La mascotte dell'aeroporto (1934) and (2) Poirot later sings two lines from "Animal Crackers in my Soup" from Riccioli d'oro (1935).
