Jack Nicholson went to play the Joker in Batman (1989). Batman & Robin (1997) featured his cast mate Pat Hingle, while Doctor Sleep (2019) featured Bruce Greenwood, who voiced Batman in various projects. Bryan Cranston, who has voiced Commissioner Gordon, also appeared in a Mountain Dew commercial that parodied this film. Stanley Kubrick's last two films also featured actors from the Batman franchise. Matthew Modine appeared in Full Metal Jacket (1987) and Il cavaliere oscuro - Il ritorno (2012). Eyes Wide Shut (1999) starred Nicole Kidman, had earlier appeared in Batman Forever (1995).
