Susie Singer Carter wrote the final screenplay for the film, but lost credit in Writers Guild arbitration, to the bewilderment of the producers and director. Her name appears as Screenwriter on the final movie poster. She also forfeited her Associate Producer title when she entered into the arbitration, which resulted in the loss of both credits. The only credit she has left in the film is an acting role, as Meredith's mother Barbara Baxter Dimly. Susan Estelle Jensen received the final credit as screenwriter.
