While the Walton parents and grandparents were married once without divorce, in real life all four actors who portrayed the characters had multiple marriages and/or had been divorced. Ralph Waite had three marriages and two divorces; Michael Learned had four marriages and three divorces; Ellen Corby had one marriage and one divorce; Will Geer had one marriage and one divorce.
