Alan Parker was a fan of The Electric Light Orchestra's album "Eldorado" and unsuccessfully attempted to get Jeff Lynne to write some of the music for the finale "I Sing The Body Electric". If you listen closely to the symphonic parts of both the "Eldorado" album and "I Sing The Body Electric" from the film, the influence of Lynne's music is very noticeable.
