Some viewers speculated that the two women in the brief scene of Hank disguising himself as a baby were a lesbian couple. When asked about the unnamed characters' sexualities by USA Today, the film's co-director Andrew Stanton replied: "They can be whatever you want them to be. There's no right or wrong answer."
