At the end of the movie, just before Tom Cruise's character destroys the Omega, there is a scene where he opens his hand to reveal multiple grenade safety pins, preparing the viewer for the pending explosion. This scene is similar to his scene in La guerra dei mondi (2005) where Cruise's character is almost sucked up into the alien machine, but he is pulled out by fellow humans. In that scene he also reveals multiple grenade pins indicating that several hand grenades will be exploding in the interior of the machine after a few seconds.
