A major theme of the show is how opposites can learn from each other and work together despite their differences. The cautious introvert Guy is forced to journey with the reckless extrovert Sam. Through their adventures, Guy learns to be more open and daring, while Sam discovers the importance of honesty and selflessness. Michellee is uptight and distrustful while her daughter E.B. is fun-loving and friendly. Gradually, E.B. finds out why her mother is the way she is and Michellee comes to understand that it's okay to occasionally venture outside her comfort zone. McWinkle is a quietly intimidating member of BAD GUYS who must work with rookie member Gluntz, who is much more boisterous and militant. At the end of the first season, McWinkle retires and gladly hands over his position to the now-qualified Gluntz.
