Throughout the series the characters speak in the local dialect of Derry in Northern Ireland. Most of the actors came from the Republic of Ireland and had to learn the dialect but two main actors, Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Erin Quinn) and Jamie-Lee O'Donnell (Michelle Mallon) are actually from Derry.
