The A.I. that Tony Stark builds to replace J.A.R.V.I.S., is called F.R.I.D.A.Y. This is a reference to the 1940's slang term "girl Friday," meaning a woman who performs different secretarial duties around an office. According to the DVD commentary, it's also a reference to La signora del venerdì (1940), which was a source of inspiration for the characters' layered, complex, and rapid dialogue.
