The MUTOS are completely original opponents of Godzilla, very rare since Titanosaurus in Distruggete Kong! La Terra è in pericolo (1975). Others include Godzilla contro Biollante (1989) and Gojira ni-sen mireniamu (1999). Every other enemy Godzilla has fought since then are either enemies he has fought before, clones of him, or are derived from or based on an existing monster.
