As Gandhi leads the march to the sea, he enters a village and turns a corner. Just as he does, a snipped of a melody can be heard. This is a traditional melody that becomes the musical theme of the ending credits. Although entitled "For All Mankind" in the soundtrack release, it was actually called, "Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram". This was Gandhi's favorite song and was sung by the marchers on their way to the sea. Candhi had altered the lyrics so that they served as a mantra that all the names of God refer to the same God , including the God of both Hindus and Muslims. The lyrics acknowledge the divinity of the ancient Manifestation of God, Ram, and his wife Sita. The rest of the lyrics can be translated as, "All names of God refer to the same Supreme Being / including Ishvara and the Muslim Allah. / O Lord, Please give peace and brotherhood to everyone, as we are all your children. / We all request that this eternal wisdom of humankind prevail."
