The lady at the airport in Paris using the payphone speaks in French to Kate, saying "Que faites-vous" which means ('What are you doing?'), then she says "Que se passe-t-il?" ('What is going on?'), when Kate grabs the phone from her she says "Rendez-moi le telephone", ('Give me back the phone.') upon which the McCallisters finally take the phone from her.
