Now Footman of the castle, instead of being a maître d' like in La bella e la bestia (1991), Lumière's long copper hair is now implied to be cut short and hidden under his white wig, unlike the original version, where he has long hair tied back in a ponytail. He also has an auburn mustache and goatee as well. In this remake, Lumiere's hairstyle in human form sorta resembles Thomas Jefferson, when he was Ambassador to France, who also made his hair short to wear wigs.
