Kara's foster parents are named Jeremiah and Eliza Danvers, a change from the previous comics in which the Danvers first names were Fred and Edna. In Peter David's run, Linda's parents were Fred and Sylvia Danvers. However, when the 2016 Supergirl comics were released as part of DC Rebirth, Kara's foster parents were given the same names as the ones in the show as that series would adapt a number of elements from the TV series.
