It's been well known how originally there was supposed to be a sex scene between Dallas and Ripley, which was in the script but was never shot. What's interesting is that some of the revised drafts added additional parts to this scene, where Alien is secretly watching two of them having sex but doesn't attacks for some reason. This would also happen later when it didn't attack Ripley in the shuttle scene, which originally was going to have Ripley fully naked and Alien having some sort of sexual excitement while watching her through the window, and maybe it would imply how Alien has some human instincts due to his behavior and curiosity when it sees naked Ripley again. It could also give some darker hint to what exactly did it do to Lambert.
