Sandy, played by Julianne Hough, in the beginning of the musical said that she came from Utah before coming to Rydell. Julianne Hough was actually born in Salt Lake City, UT. This is a nod to the 1978 movie because Olivia Newton-John (Sandy) is from Australia.
