Shoe Boogie describes a "blood eagle" as a Native American practice in which a warrior is pulled apart by horses tied to each of their four limbs. In fact, a blood eagle is a Viking method of execution in which victims were placed in a prone position, their ribs severed from the spine with a sharp tool, and their lungs pulled through the opening to create a pair of "wings". It was famously used by the sons of legendary Viking leader Ragnar Lothbrok to execute king Ælla of Northumbria as vengeance for his murdering their father.
