While this film was made in 1984, both Jennifer Connelly and Byron Thames would have movies they were released before and after filming would wrap on this film in December 1984. Those films were "Once Upon A Time In America" which was released in a truncated form in June and "Johnny Dangerously" which would be released in December. Both Connelly and Thames played younger versions of the stars of the film in this case, both Elizabeth McGovern and Michael Keaton respectively.
