The actress playing Will's mother---who appears in the intro in the shower cap while the voice over says "You're moving with your auntie & uncle in Bel-Air"---was never paid for that appearance. She auditioned for a part, was either cut out of the pilot or they simply used her audition reel in the opening credits. She never got paid, neither for the initial performance, nor royalties, as all actors are due, per union rules. She became homeless for a while; she used to make appearances at the Ice House in Pasadena as a stand-up comedian, back in the 90s. It is unclear what her name is or what became of her. When Will's mother appears alongside the cast in the actual show (15 episodes), she is played by a different actress, Vernee Watson.
