The main reason that the film got the nod from The Knack to use "My Sharona" for its soundtrack, beating out PULP FICTION, is because Ben Stiller explained the fun nature of the sequence (the friends dancing together in a mini-mart) where the song would be used, and the band liked that idea more than the graphic and violent scene Quentin Tarantino wanted to use the song for in his film.
