When Nimitz ( Henry Fonda ) speaks with Rock in his study, on the wall behind him is a portrait of John Paul Jones from the Revolutionary War days. The image looks exceedingly close to that of Fonda himself when he starred in the Revolutionary War drama La più grande avventura (1939).
