To ensure secrecy on J. Jonah Jameson's appearance at the end, the filmmakers deliberately waited until late into post-production just before the film's release to shoot the cameo. J.K. Simmons shot his scene with Jon Watts and a small crew in a conference room at Marvel's office in New York in just two hours. Ironically, Watts also pointed out that it uses the exact setup as used in the kid's news at the opening (an actor, a desk and green screen).
