Dodgson was originally played by Cameron Thor, who had previously worked with Steven Spielberg on Hook - Capitan Uncino (1991), which starred Robin Williams and Julia Roberts. Campbell Scott also worked with both actors that year: with Roberts in Scelta d'amore - La storia di Hilary e Victor (1991), and with Williams in L'altro delitto (1991), which also featured Wayne Knight, who played Nedry in the first film.
