Toward the end of the series friction between the actresses got so bad that when a new script would arrive they would all count the number of lines each actress got, and then complain if they felt a certain person got more lines than the others. As a result there were frequent re-writes to try to please everyone. This also explains why there are constant camera cuts, as there are shots after shots of each actress, even if they aren't saying a line or even doing anything, just so there wouldn't be complaints about one actress getting more screen time than the others.
