Bloodsport is in prison for shooting Superman with a Kryptonite bullet. This is taken directly from Bloodsport's first appearance in John Byrne's Post-Crisis Superman run back in 1987. As it happened, Superman was seriously wounded enough with that attack that he had to undergo surgery to remove it, which required the surgeon to give the Kryptonian a controlled exposure to the mineral's radiation in order to properly treat him.
