Jared Padalecki's character in the series is named Dean. He would later go on to star in the TV show Supernatural (2005) and his on-screen brother is named Dean. Jared's nemesis on GG is Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) where as on Supernatural his girlfriend (pilot episode) who is killed which insights him back into hunting is named Jess (Adrianne Palicki).
