Many Terminator fans were infuriated by this film's perceived moral, that fate is real and that the future is inevitable. This is because it completely undermines the moral of Terminator 2 - Il giorno del giudizio (1991), being that there is 'no fate but what we make for ourselves'. What many fans did not realize is that the previous movie also stated that 'it is in [humanity's] nature to destroy [itself]', and it seems due to this that Judgment Day is inevitable, not because the future cannot be changed.
