When James Cameron tried to make a Spider-Man movie in the 1990s, he was going to make Electro the main villain. But his version of Electro was going to be totally different from the comics. Instead of Electro being Max Dillon who got his powers from fixing a power line in the middle of a thunderstorm, this version instead would be a billionaire criminal named Carlton Strand who got his powers from getting struck by lightning from an electricity generating device.
